Illuminated GrandeurAn evening walk around the gardens of the Château of Versailles this summer will give visitors a whole new vision of Versailles. Just sit back, relax, and admire age-old fountains bathed in a shower of colour and music. A different art installation is set up each year by some of the best in the field of sound and light installations and shows. See the Versailles gardens like never before, showered in a rainbow of light and water… To add to the emotion, Baroque masterpieces will be played by the Musica Antiqua Orchestra, led by Reinhard Goebel. Visitors will at first be greeted by the Bertrand Lavier Fountains on the Parterre du Midi. Bertrand Lavier is a contemporary artist who works with mundane, everyday objects displayed in unusual situations or contexts. Working with context default and status, he can bring the visitor to question the purpose of an object he sees every day…
