A remarkable feat. The exhibition at the Musée Dauphinois in Grenoble, proposes to revisit the incredible story of Hannibal Barca (247-183 BC), a major military leader of antiquity, who won great victories in the Mediterranean and was considered a demigod. He inspired many artists, but also generated lots of controversy over his manner of crossing the Alps and conquering new territories. The exhibition thus facilitates a better understanding of the character drawn from literary, artistic and archaeological elements, as no contemporary portrait can substantiate Hannibal's image.
