Well travelled treasures. An exhibition event begins in the spring at the Museum of the Legion d'Honneur in Paris. This is an exhibition of the incredible adventure of Napoleon's carriage at Waterloo.Visitors will discover the Emperor's carriage which was plundered on the evening of the final defeat and the spoils which were restored: Napoleon's personal effects (hat, coat, personal grooming items and silverware, etc.), but more importantly, for the first time exhibited in France, his personal decorations, thanks to an exceptional loan by the State Historical Museum of Moscow. These objects have travelled around Europe at the mercy of historical events, from Waterloo in 1815 to Moscow at the end of World War II, and today have come to Paris. The adventure of this incredible collection has been a part of the Napoleonic legend for nearly two centuries…
