The sailor's archetypal enemy…Whales, dolphins, Orcas… Over 80 species belong to the Cetacean order and represent some of the most beautiful and fascinating mammals on our planet. The Natural History Museum invites young and old to discover these incredible sea creatures who have become a subject of debate in environmental terms. Delve into the abyss and admire the monumental skeletons of 18 cetaceans; hear the story of their evolution thanks to fossils of their distant ancestors. On another note, you will learn of their complex relationship with men - the sailor's ghost will tell tales of monstrous sea creatures, a sharp contrast to the almost human image of dolphins. To close the event, visitors can take part in debates about the modern day issues associated with whales.
