This is probably one of the most beautiful museums you'll find outside Paris, worth a visit just to see the five Goya paintings on permanent display ("Self-portrait", "The Balloon", "Sketch of Ferdinand VII", "Messe des Relevailles", "Caprichos") donated by the Count of Chaudordy in 1901.Over the course of your visit, you will also discover works dating back to prehistoric times leading up until the late 19th century. You will also admire the archaeological collections including a white marble Roman Venus; the collection of paintings from Aiguillon Château, belonging to Louis 14th's foreign minister, and several pieces of 18th century French porcelain.
