Fed by the waters of Lake Bonlieu and Lake Ilay, no fewer than 31 cascades make up the Hérisson Falls. The best known is "L’Eventail", which is also the highest at 65 m. The Hérisson Valley has been a site of intense activity for almost seven centuries. Humans settled here from the Middle Ages to use the driving force of the water and the area’s wealth of natural resources. A three-hour hike (7.4 km roundtrip) will show you the beauty of the valley as well as remains of the industry that continued until the advent of electricity in the late nineteenth century.
