Cathédrale Sainte-Cécile d'Albi

The Cathedral of Saint Cecilia in Albi, said to be the largest brick building in the world, was built between 1282 and 1480. Its 256-ft belfry still dominates the town’s skyline. The giant structure, a masterpiece of the Southern Gothic style, offers a strong contrast between the austere exterior and elaborate interior.

Note the ornate baldaquin over the entrance (1515–1540), the width of the nave and the white stone gargoyles.
Inside don’t miss the magnificent group of carved and painted statues or the fresco of the Last Judgement.
