The Alsace-Moselle Memorial retraces the tumultuous history of the two regions from the Franco-Prussian War in 1870 to post-1945 Franco-German reconciliation. It focuses primarily on World War Two, the annexation and the construction of Europe.Located between France and Germany, Alsace and Moselle have changed hands four times, shaping contemporary European history. The interactive and educational museum uses documents, reconstructions, photographs, audiovisual clips and portraits to explore the weight of the past and hopes for the future. The memorial adjoins Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp, now the European Centre for Deported Resistance Fighters.
