Set up in the Château-Neuf, once home to the Dukes of Bar, this museum is built on the site of two historic parts of the chateau. Part of the foundations include the former Cour des Comptes (1523) and a part of the Salle du trésor des Chartes (late 15th), both of which were built under René II. The archaeological section is home to collections of artefacts from the site of Nasium, an antique city, and the Barrois region more generally. Discover a rich selection of Gallo-Roman bas-reliefs and Merovingian jewels from the Gondrecourt necropolis.
