Abbot Jean Garneret (1907-2002) dedicated himself to the preservation of a local architectural heritage that risked disappearing by creating the Museum of Homes from the Franche-Comté Region. From initial groundwork in 1973 to the opening of the museum in 1988, the abbot’s energetic devotion was unfailing.Inspired by the Danish museum of Sorgenfrei, the museum displays the richness and variety of rural homes in the region. Exhibits and workshops provide active transmission of this miraculously preserved know-how.
