Constructed over hundreds of years, this splendid cathedral with flaming Gothic frontage is built partly on stilts. But its uniqueness is mostly due to the 1500m2 stained glass windows from the thirteenth to nineteenth century, which tell the wonderfully colourful and multicoloured history of the stained glass craft. A rose window of eight metres in diameter completes this wonderful group of coloured glass and lead. The cathedral also guards other wonders, like the eye of Bernard de Clairvaux, a splendid cope in red silk from the thirteenth century embossed with 53 medallions, or Linard's Pressoir mystique (The Mystic Press).
