A two-day trip exploring Quimper
Week-long trip to Quimper
Trip to Quimper with the children
A weekend in Quimper is a great opportunity to check out the Breton city’s iconic landmarks. Head out of your affordable hotel room and straight for the city center — and, more specifically, the Locmaria neighborhood of faience craftsmen. A wide-eyed walk through town will take you past Quimper Cathedral and wood-paneled houses. There’s something incredibly charming about the cobbled streets. If you’re still not ready to head back, take a look at the Ursuline convent, too. The private mansions nearby are also worth a look.
If you’re staying in Quimper for a week, a tour of the city center and its landmarks is a must — it’s right on the doorstep, after all. Why not delve even deeper with a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts, the Breton Museum, the Faience Museum and more... Or would you rather get outdoors? The gardens of the Théâtre Max-Jacob, right in the heart of Quimper, are a great place to relax. A week-long stay will also mean you get the chance to see more of Brittany.

Spending your vacation in Quimper with the kids might be a lot of things, but it won’t be quiet. The city is a paradise for families, with plenty of activities on offer. The Creac'h Gwen park on the edge of the lake is the perfect place for everyone to do their own thing: there’s a skate park, swimming area, and water sports to enjoy. On sunny days, pack up and head to the coast just 12 miles from your hotel. Or do you think they’d prefer to stay on dry land? In that case, head to the Cornouaille Botanical Garden or the gardens of Rospico. You’ll get back to your room having made a mountain of memories.
