Visitors to Les Ulis are in luck: the city is teeming with cultural activities. Aside from these regular events, the city also organizes the Festival 360 in May, which celebrates contemporary theatre in its many and varied forms. Not far from Les Ulis, a festival of plants takes place in both spring and autumn at the Chateau Saint Jean de Beauregard, which is one that nature lovers and keen gardeners won’t want to miss.

Not only is the city of Les Ulis the youngest in the department of Essonne, with the vast majority of its residents aged under 25 — it’s the newest, too. It was built in 1977 according to principles laid down by Le Corbusier, on land that belonged to the neighboring communes of Orsay and Bures-sur-Yvette. It has since become the biggest settlement in the area, with a population of over 25,000 compared to 17,000 in Orsay and 10,000 in Bures-sur-Yvette.
